Hello Series – Card no. 2
Another cheery hello to you today. Following on from yesterday’s “hello series” card no. 1, here is card no. 2:
With my least favourite colour, yellow, combing with my favourite colour, red, I have found an unexpected colour combination that I absolutely love. And this time I’ve included a little Crumb Cake cardstock, my other favourite colour, which seems to work it’s way into most things I make.
For this card I wanted a piece of crumb cake card down the side but I didn’t want something too plain so I put it through my Big Shot with the Top Note die. This created the detail on the bottom of this section. I love how the Top Note cuts out the shape and makes the perforated (dashed lines) detail at the same time. It makes it so easy to add those cute details that make all the difference.
At the moment I am loving the Real Red 5/8″ satin ribbon. I love the sheen and the way it sits when tied into a bow. So pretty. But this time I didn’t want a bow because I wanted to keep it simple. By ruffling the ribbon slightly and stitching it down using my sewing machine it adds a depth and a bit of luxury to the card. And who doesn’t like ruffles?!!
To finish it off, and to make sure it’s included in the “hello series”, it simply has to say hello. This ‘hello’ stamp is from the stamp set Pendant Park.
What do you think? What is you favourite element on this card? The Top Note detail, the ruffled ribbon, or maybe the cute little heart in the centre of the scallop circle? I’d love to know!
🙂 Amy

Love this one – the ruffled ribbon is it’s best feature – fantastic job Amy!

Thanks Larissa. The ruffled ribbon is a winner for me too.
