Birthday Bakery

Now that the boring “Man” card is out of the way, here is something cute 🙂

I’ve been having Regal Rose (pink) withdrawals lately as I haven’t had much of a chance to do my card making and I just had to use it.  I’ve teamed it up with Early Espresso and Whisper White with Old Olive and Real Red for the accents.

Simply stamp your image (from Birthday Bakery stamp set) onto the Whisper White cardstock and using your Stampin’ Write markers colour in those delicious delicacies. You could use standard pens to colour your cakes but I love the Stampin’ Write markers as they are a perfect match to my cardstock colours.  And with a brush tip and a fine point tip they can be used to colour large areas or get into those tiny spots that always get missed.  Plus you can use the same colour to write your greeting inside your card so it really matches all the way through.

To add a little something cute along the bottom I have made a border from Whisper White using the Scallop Trim Border punch from Stampin’ Up!  and layered it under the Regal Rose card.

And I love that little sentiment that comes in the Birthday Bakery set.  Too “cute” 😉

To make this something really super girly and cute you need to have a bow!  I love the satin ribbon from Stampin’ Up!  It has a beautiful shine to it on both sides.  Not just the one side like with some satin ribbons on the market.  With the satin finish on both sides it means that bow tying is so much easier as you don’t have to worry about which way the ribbon is facing.  It will turn out beautifully with less effort.  That’s my kind of ribbon 🙂

In my classes lately, I’ve been noticing that it can be a little tricky for some to tie bows.  So I have decided I need to make a tutorial on  how to tie a bow.  This isn’t because I think that mine are perfect but because I don’t know how to explain it.  So the easiest way is to just show you.  I’ll get to that today and hopefully it will be up on my blog for you tomorrow.

How are you at tying bows?  Are it easy for you or hard?  Does your bow look like you want it to or does it look like your 3 yr old tied it for you?

Have a cute day,

Amy
