Memories Folder File
For my sister’s birthday party we decided it would be nice to have a small box of cards available that everyone could write a memory they have of her or something special about her. That way she can sit down later and read them all and have a laugh, or cry, and hopefully enjoy the nice things that we all remember about her and that she does for us.
Of course I had to make it and this is what I came up with:
She loves flowery things and the colours I used should hopefully match the decorations (I’ll let you know tomorrow if they do). Inside there are single cards decorated similarly to the front. I forgot to take photos and now it’s too late 😦 It’s not my usual style as my sister is very different from me. I hope I got it right and made something she likes.

I hope she likes it Amy – I always stress when I give people handmade things like this. And call me selfish, but I always want a good reaction from the receiver, like “ooooh, this is beautiful, wow, did you *make* this”!! haha! But I’m sure you know what I mean.
It’s beautiful though – I’m sure she’ll love it.
I do know what you mean and I did get that reaction! Yay for me!
She loved it and so did everyone else. I can breathe again.
Amy, I am sure your sister will be absolutely delighted with this fabulous keepsake. Bye the way, love the colours, right up my alley. Kris.
Thanks Kris. She loved it as did everyone else. And the colours do work so well. They look pretty stunning together!
That flower looks REAL Amy!!!! Its gorgeous!!!! Have you done anything different??? I love it! And this has just come together so gorgeously…..I love all the colours together – so so special…xxxxxxx
Thanks Adele. I always love your comments as they make me feel so awesome. You know exactly how to make me feel good!
I made the flower the same way as I have previously done but with two little changes. I used 3 scallop circles of Riding Hood Red and then 3 of Pink Pirouette and then I sponged the edges lightly with some Riding Hood Red after I had it looking the way I wanted it to. Does that make sense? I hope so. If not just let me know!
By the way, your flowers look pretty darn awesome too!
It’s great Amy!! You’ve set me a challenge now, I want to see if I can make something like this. If it works I will load the pics on FB 🙂
It’s really quite simple. I’ll try and make some time to put up some instructions for you this week.
Amy – is this DSP paper of have you made it yourself?!?!?! I love it(!!!!!!!) but can’t place it!?! If you’ve made it I want to try too!! hehehehhe And I’m off to try that flower tonight – will let you know how I go! xxx
It’s ADSP – Amy’s Designer Series Paper. lol
I used the embrace life stamp set and stamped with black ink onto whisper white cardstock. I then highlighted the stems with the fine tip of the old olive marker. For the flowers I used the brush tip of my ruby red and pretty in pink markers and added old olive as shadow around the blooms.
I told another sister when we planned this that I was going to keep it simple so that it wouldn’t take long but would still look elegant. It was simple to do but it took a while to colour them all. So at least I stuck to half of the plan 😉
Good luck having a go. I’ll be looking for your version on your blog soon 🙂
It looks stunning Amy!!!! Just gorgeous – I don’t think I could get it to look anywhere near as good as this- this looks better than some of the printed stuff!!!!! Just beautiful….
