A little bit girly
I bought this stamp set recently (non Stampin’ Up!) and used it to put on a CD pocket that I gave to the girls in the church group. The CD was a present from the youth leaders to the girls and had all the photos we had taken throughout the last year and a slide show (with captions, backing music and all that ‘special’ stuff).
I had fun doing the slide show and looking at all the pictures but I must admit that I enjoyed making the CD pocket and stamping this lovely young lady and colouring her in.
I stamped the outline image in Chocolate Chip and then I got started colouring. I used Stampin’ Up! markers to colour in her hair and bow, the trim on her dress and the flowers. Then I used blender pens and ink for her skin, basket and leaves. My final touch was the rosy cheeks. A little Regal Rose ink on a blender pen did the trick and I love the way it adds a bit more depth and realism to her features.
I was really surprised to find that Blush Blossom is the perfect colour for the skin tones. I bought that colour ink a little while back and found it a little too light to use as a focal colour and it has been sitting patiently waiting to be used again. Now that I have discovered this new use for it, I will be using it more often.
I just loved doing this. After all, what girl doesn’t love colouring in 🙂
